The supply needs the right pressure, the connection must be made to the correct standard, and the appliance must be tested for leaks before it’s used. We install new cookers, replace old ones like-for-like, fit range cookers (Rangemaster, Stoves and similar), and handle gas hobs and built-in ovens. Every installation includes pressure testing, gas tightness testing, and proper certification upon completion.

A surprising amount of our gas cooker work is taking old units out rather than fitting new ones. This is usually because customers want to replace a gas cooker with an electric one, renovate a kitchen, or move house, and often need the existing cooker disconnected and the gas supply safely capped off.
This is a quick job when done properly. It involves isolating the gas at the supply, disconnecting and removing the cooker, and capping the open end of the gas pipe to the correct standard.

Do I legally need a Gas Safe engineer to install my cooker?
Yes. Any work on a gas appliance, including installation, replacement, and disconnection, must be carried out by a Gas Safe-registered engineer with the appropriate qualifications. We’re fully Gas Safe registered (number 518700) and qualified specifically for gas cooker work.
Do you fit range cookers like Rangemaster or Stoves?
Yes. Range cooker installations are more complex than standard cooker installations due to their size, weight, and gas supply requirements. We’ve fitted them across Cardiff in family homes and modern kitchen renovations.
Do you install gas hobs and built-in ovens?
Yes. Built-in gas hobs and gas ovens are common in fitted kitchens. The work is more involved than a freestanding cooker because of the cutouts in worktops and cabinetry, and we coordinate with the kitchen fitter as needed.
Can you disconnect my old gas cooker?
Yes. We safely disconnect and cap off old gas cookers, whether you’re switching to electric, renovating the kitchen, or moving house. The job takes around an hour, including testing the capped supply for leaks.
