Most radiator problems come down to air in the system, a worn or seized valve, or the radiator needing to be balanced with the rest of the system.
Luckily, the cause of a radiator problem usually shows itself fairly quickly. For example, cold at the top is normally air, cold at the bottom is usually sludge or balancing, and leaks at the valve are typically caused by a worn seal.
Diagnosis always comes first. Most radiator faults are repairable, and we’ll only suggest a new radiator if the existing one’s genuinely beyond saving.

Can you fit a heated towel rail in my bathroom?
Yes. Heated towel rails are one of the most common bathroom upgrades, and we fit them regularly. They’re installed as part of the existing heating system in most cases, though dual-fuel options that can run from electric too are also available.
Do you fit cast iron and column radiators?
Yes. Cast iron radiators are heavier than standard panels and need solid wall fixings or floor support for free-standing units. We’ve fitted them throughout Cardiff, in period properties and modern conversions where the look is desired. Column radiators are similar to work with a more contemporary appearance.
My radiator is leaking. Can it be fixed?
Usually, yes. Most radiator leaks come from a worn valve or olive at the connection rather than the radiator itself, both of which are quick repairs. Where the radiator has corroded through internally, replacement is normally the right call.
Will you need to drain the whole system?
Often, we can isolate just the affected radiator using the valves on either side, which means the rest of the system stays full. Older systems without working isolation valves may need partial draining, but we would talk you through what’s needed before starting any work.
